At the end of the season, the winner and runner up get trophies.
All the heats, usually five of them, are scored the same. Since points usually are given down to the tenth place, cars try to finish. As a practical matter cars that cross the finish line after the three first places are decided are considered to have finished even if they didn't complete all the laps.
New-2001 A feature winner (E-B) can choose to continue in the next, higher feature but will lose the points he just won. (A driver winning the C feature choosing to continue to the B will forfeit the C winner points and money.)
The point chart shows the points or cash for each place 1 through 10 for heats (H), trophy dash (TD), and feature races (E-A)

A really good night for a driver might see him earn 100 points for his car. A driver may enter more than one car in the race. At the end of the season the top four scores for 1997 were 683, 604, 542 and 495; the second and third scores are the same driver. This is not an unusual group of scores.
