The Primghar Advancement Corporation (PAC) was formed in October of 1993 to promote commercial, civil and economic development in Primghar.
A major benefactor to the growth of the City was Fern Randolph whose generous gift was to be used in any manner its City Council shall determine, giving preference to civic projects beneficial to the Primghar community. After many public meetings, various suggestions and ideas from the public venue, land exchanges, and a lot of hard work by many - Randolph Estates emerged. This subdivision now has grown many beautiful homes skirting the edges of the award-winning 9 hole golf course in Primghar. All of the original 25 platted lots were sold at auction by PAC. Out of those initial sales, 17 lots have been built upon and more building is anticipated this spring (2008).
PAC offers incentives, such as grants, buy-down interest packages or conveyance of land to businesses wishing to expand, improve or locate in the City of Primghar. Many of our existing businesses and some new entrepreneurs have taken advantage of these incentives and are enjoying their continued prosperity in Primghar.
The list includes: Dr. Bart, Jon's Gallery, The Farm Bureau/Extension Building, Harvest Inn, Knowlton Backhoe/Excavating, Turning Heads, Primghar Chiropractic Clinic, Mom's, Legends, Primghar Body Shop, The Pizza Ranch, The Thompson Arms Inn & Suites, and most recently Cobblestone Properties
PAC is non-profit. Funds realized from TIF(tax increment financing (map)), crop sales, cash rent(farm land rented map), and lot hookups are used to pay off the mortgage and for business incentives, advertising, legal fees and other PAC projects
