The course architect was Joel Goldstrand. The general contractor was VanBuskirk Construction of Sioux City. It was first open in 1987. The Iowa Golf Association named PGCC the 9-Hole Course of the Year in 1990.
A plaque relating Harold Metcalf's contributions hangs on the east wall of the Dining Room.
