October 10, 2008 Minutes
The Planning & Zoning Commission met on Thursday, October 10, 2008 at 6:00pm in the city council chambers with Chairman Darrell DeBoom presiding. In attendance were Rick Richter and Von Kilts Absent Doug Walvoord and Robert McCauley Jr. .
Motioned by Richter, second by Kilts to approve the Agenda, all ayes, motioned carried.
Motioned by Richter, second by Kilts to approve the Official minutes from the August 21, 2008 meeting. All ayes, motioned carried.
Visitor Steven J. Hallgren-Planning Director - NW IA Planning & Development came and talked about proposed changes to the current Planning & Zoning Ordinances.
The next meeting dates were set for November 13 and December 11, 2008 at 6:00pm, City Hall in the council chambers.
Darrell DeBoom moved for adjournment at 7:40 pm. Motioned by Richter, second by Kilts.

TOPJuly 24, 2008 Minutes
The Planning & Zoning Commission met on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 6:00pm in the city council chambers with Chairman Darrell DeBoom presiding. In attendance were Von Kilts, Rick Richter, and Doug Walvoord. In general attendance was Bob Baxter.
Motioned by Richter, second by Kilts to approve the Agenda all ayes, motioned carried.
Motioned by Walvoord, second by Richter to approve the Official minutes from the May 7, 2008 meeting. All ayes, motioned carried.
The Zoning Board accepted Roger Kemmerer's resignation (term was up) from the board and will have a replacement for the next City Council Meeting for approval.
Four zoning enforcement signs update-signs are in and are planning on being put up this week by the City Crew.
Requested Planning & Zoning ordinance amendments were cancelled. The amendments were so significant that NW Iowa Planning recommended ordinance be completely re-codified.
Visitor Steven J. Hallgren-Planning Director - NW IA Planning & Development came and explained the steps that will be taken to re-codify the Planning & Zoning Ordinances.
Rental Ordinances was also given to Steve Hallgren to look over for any suggestions.
The next meeting is set for August 21, 2008 at City Hall in the council chambers.
Darrell DeBoom motioned for adjournment at 7:30 pm. Motioned by Kilts, second by Walvoord.

TOPMay 7, 2008 Minutes
The Planning & Zoning Commission met on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 6:30pm in the city council chambers with Chairman Darrell DeBoom presiding. In attendance were Roger Kammerer, Von Kilts, Rick Richter, and Doug Walvoord. In General attendance was Bob Baxter.
Motioned by Walvoord, second by Kammerer to approve the Agenda all ayes, motioned carried.
Motioned by Kilts, second by Richter to approve the Official minutes from the February 19, 2008 meeting. All ayes, motioned carried.
Board member Kammerer attended the City's Council meeting on March 10, 2008 and presented Planning & Zoning updates. Four zoning enforcement signs were approved to be installed on Hwy 59 & B40.
After a brief discussion a motion by Walvoord, second by Richter to have secretary Nieman attend the next City Council Meeting on May 12, 2008 for their approval of the new Zoning Maps.
Rental Ordinances has been tabled until two P&Z members and two Council members can meet to go over together.
Visitor, Bob Baxter offered updates on building permits/issues.
The next meeting is to be announced for sometime in July, August or September unless an issue arises.
Darrell DeBoom adjourned the meeting at 7:40 pm.

TOPFebruary 19, 2008 Minutes
The Planning & Zoning Commission met on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 7:00pm in the city council chambers with Chairman Darrell DeBoom presiding. In attendance were Roger Kammerer and Doug Walvoord. In general attendance-Darren Bumgarner.
Motioned by Walvoord, second by Kammerer to approve the Agenda all ayes, motioned carried.
Motioned by Kammerer, second by Walvoord to approve the Official minutes from the September 18th and the December 4th, 2007 meetings. All ayes, motioned carried.
Visitor Darren Bumgarner from Northwest Iowa Planning & Development Commission was in attendance to review the zoning map.
The Planning & Zoning Commissions will have a representative from the Board (Kammerer) to attend the next City's Council meeting (March 10, 2008) to approve/deny Deck & Porch Setbacks, receive an update on the Rental Ordinance and adding Zoning signs.
Linda will send out an email to the City Council and Betterment Council to see if anyone is interested in attending the P & Z Workshop in Spencer on April 3. 2008.
The next meeting is to be announced depending on when the new zoning maps are returned for the committee to review.
Darrell DeBoom adjourned the meeting at 9:10 pm.
